Darrell Damon Duke Sr., was born in San Jose, CA., on March 18, 1972 to Neutie and Sharol Duke. He was the middle child of 5 children. Although, born in San Jose, he grew up in Bakersfield, CA. Darrell attended K.R Smith elementary in San Jose, CA., Fremont and Harris elementary, Compton Jr High and Foothill High School in Bakersfield, CA. As a kid, Darrell could be described as mischievous and the "sneaky" one of the family. He is also said to have had a lot of tenacity, if he wanted it he was going to get it. Memories of Darrell consists of a go-getter that had a drippy Jheri curl the literally "dripped through the mall" all while wearing ankle shorts and Nikes, while driving a champagne colored "stankin lankin" he was always up to something. But Darrell also was described as the quiet type, he had little to say but was always there to listen, unless you got him on a good day and at the point his stories never stopped. Darrell was an oil field worker by trade, until he was diagnosed with Valley Fever, a diagnosis he fought through and prevailed. An avid lover of the motorcycle scene, it wasn't a stretch to find him hanging out with the biker social clubs. He would later join the streetbike club "B-Yon Limitz", where he was aptly named "Duke." He then became a member of the Harley bike club "Iron Hoggz", where he would serve as vice president. Darrell thought of himself as the cook of the family. He was always ready to fire up the grill and have a cookout for the family. He often times wanted to experiment with his cooking, which didn't always turn out well. He wore is bbq crown proudly, even though other family members were ready to take it. Darrell is also remembered as a brother, father, uncle, cousin and friend that quite simply "did the best he could." He is preceded in death by his father Neutie Dukez mother Sharol Duke, older sister Chandra Duke, older brother Shawn Duke and younger sister Nisheaka Duke. He leaves behind to carry on his memory in his younger brother Brian Duke and children Darrell Duke Jr., Terrell Duke, Taralyn Duke and Demaya Duke. He also leaves behind grandchildren Darrell Duke III, Nyomi Duke, Damari Duke, Ja'ceon Duke, Kayden Duke, Serenity Duke, Romeo Duke and Jenesis Bacon. There are also a host of great nieces, great nephews, nieces, nephews, family and friends that will hold their own memories of him.
