It is with deep love that we announce the passing of Daryl Hicks - a father, grandfather, son, partner, and friend - who passed away on August 8, 2026.

Born on December 22, 1967, in Bakersfield, CA, Daryl taught his family the value of laughter and showed his love through quality time. He will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, barbering, motorcycles, basketball, dancing, and friendship — and for the way he offered his support to anyone striving to achieve success.

Daryl is survived by his children, Jazmin Español, Jesi Le Rae, Mikayla Hicks, and Caleb Hicks; his life partner, Marivette Torres, and her children, Leti Torres, Beatrice Torres, and Robin Torres; his Mother Dee Slade; his siblings, Vaughn Hicks Jr., Victor Hicks, Courtney Hicks, and Allen Slade; and his two beloved granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by Christian Hicks, Vaughn Hicks Sr. and Walter Slade.

Services will be held at Praise Center Church. His family will carry his memory forward through the lessons, stories, and love he shared within his communities from every walk of life.
