Emilia Quintana, lovingly known as Grandma, was born on June 6, 1931, in Bacachi, Chínipas, Chihuahua, Mexico. From the very beginning of her life, she was guided by deep faith, devotion, and an unwavering love for her family.

Her home in Pixley, California was filled with warmth, kindness, and steadfast love. Through her example, she taught us the importance of faith, perseverance, and devotion to family.

A devoted woman of faith, she was a proud member of Los Guadalupanos, alongside her beloved husband, honoring Our Lady of Guadalupe at St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Earlimart, California, together with her nephew Jesús and his wife María Arévalo, with reverence and love. She was also a member of the United Farm Workers, standing in solidarity with César Chávez and Dolores Huerta, supporting hardworking families, dignity, and justice.

In her later years, she formed a beautiful and tender bond with her eldest granddaughter, Alicia Quintana. Over the last few years, they became inseparable companions — sharing daily moments, quiet conversations, laughter, and prayer. She will be deeply missed by Alicia and her son Carlos, whose love and devotion brought her great comfort and joy.

On February 12, 2026, embraced by the mercy of our Lord, she was called from this earthly life into eternal rest. Though we grieve her passing, we find comfort in Christ’s promise of resurrection and the hope that she now rests in God’s eternal light.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Santiago Cano Quintana; her infant son, Carlos Mario.; her daughter, Rosa; her grandson, Isaac; and her great-grandchildren, Alena Nevaeh and Ely.

She will forever remain in our hearts and in our prayers until we are reunited in Heaven.
She is survived by her four sons — Carlos Sr. (Wife Janie), Ramón(wife Ana), Emilio( wife Sandra) and Raúl — and her daughter, María; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter, Mia.
