It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Gloria Martinez Rios, who departed this world on November 20, 2025, at the age of 67. Born on April 2, 1958, in Dawson County, Texas, to Victor Manuel Rios Sr. and Emma Martinez Rios, Gloria's life was a testament to resilience, love, and unwavering compassion. The Rios family relocated to Bakersfield, California, in the late 1960s, Gloria grew up in East Bakersfield, attending Sierra Jr. High and Foothill High School. She always remained a proud Texan at heart.

Gloria's love for her family knew no bounds. Known for her warm personality, she had an innate ability to connect with people, making friends wherever she went. With a passion for music, an appreciation for all genres, and a creative spirit, Gloria embraced life with boundless energy and imagination. She found joy in crafting and collecting items such as Buddha and elephant statues and cherished the beauty of flowers and gardening.

Gloria possessed an extraordinary capacity for empathy, always ready to offer a listening ear, open arms, and unconditional support to those in need, without judgment. Her world revolved around her four sons, whom she raised single-handedly, nurturing an unbreakable bond and showering them withh unconditional love. While her sons held a special place in her heart, her grandchildren were the recipients of her affection, with whom she shared a unique and loving relationship characterized by gentle teasing and playful banter.

Gloria was a woman of remarkable strength and determination, who embraced life to the fullest in her own unique way. She was genuine, compassionate, and truly one of a kind.

She is survived by her sons, Julian Anthony Rios (Erika), Angel Rios Trimble, Jose Ray Dominguez, and Ernesto Rios Dominguez; her partner of 22 years, Dustin McGinley; 11 grandsons, 10 granddaughters, 2 great granddaughters, and 4 great grandsons; brothers, Victor Manuel Rios Jr., Mario Rios, and Israel Rios (Margaret); sisters, Elsa Rafidy (George), Norma Vela, and Rosemarie Rios; and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

She was preceded in death by both parents, her sisters Pauline Tapia, Mary Muniz, and Alicia Rios, nephew Joseph Vargas and sister-in-law Alicia Rios.

Gloria's influence resonated deeply within the lives of all who knew her. Her spirit, strength, and the valuable lessons she taught will forever remain etched in our hea
