Vertis “Squirt”. Dean Dorsey Jr. was born at Kern Medical Hospital on February 1, 1986, in Bakersfield,
Ca. . Squirt was born with a chronic respiratory disease called Cystic Fibrosis. Squirt became a member
of Union Baptist Church at an early age. He attended Longfellow and Horace Man Elementary, Chipman
Junior High, and earned his diploma at Bakersfield High School. In his early adulthood, he worked at the
Green Frog Market. He loved to play basketball, shoot dice with friends, drive nice cars, and look fly for
the women. In 2006, Squirt and Otisha welcomed their son Ver’cjon Dorsey into the world. He loved and
cherished his son. March 20, 2023, Squirt met his beautiful granddaughter, Ny,leeya Legacy Ruth Dorsey.
He will be remembered for his sense of humor, smile, rolling skimpy woods (If you know, you know), and
how much he loved his family. January 1,2025, Squirt was admitted to the hospital and never returned
home. On April 3, 2025, he succumbed to his illness, and the fight was over. He was a Warrior and fought
until he couldn’t fight anymore. Squirt was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Ruth Gresham and
Vertis Dean Dorsey Sr. Also, his brother, Robert Cory Mitchell.
Squirt leaves to cherish his memory behind to his son and daughter-in-law Ver’cjon Dorsey, Liz
Nicholson, Granddaughter Ny Ny Dorsey, Siblings, Audrey Jenkins, Vertissa Dorsey, Dean Dorsey, Delwin
Mayner, Kevin Dorsey of Bakersfield,Ca. Anita Mitchell, Robert &Marilyn Mitchell,and Lutrecia Goodwin of
Fresno,Ca. Niece’s and Nephews Darnisha, Daryl, and Darricka Daniel, DePaul Spears, Nicolas Dorsey,
Clint G, of Bakersfield, Ca.,Ashleigh Gorgeous of Los Angeles, Ca, Kehvanique Welch of Lompoc, Ca.
Herbert Deon Goodwin Jr.,Denita & Virgil Allen, Ashley & Taiwan McGruder of Fresno, Ca. his Godmother

Bone and a host of great nieces and nephews, family, and friends. The family would like to extend a big
thank you to everyone who went to visit Squirt in the hospital, sent prayers and kind words, and donated.
