Living Waters Funeral Care History

Living Waters Funeral Care officially opened its doors in February 2024, but our story is rooted in a much deeper tradition of service. Located in a historic facility that has operated as a funeral home since the 1920s, Living Waters carries forward nearly a century of compassionate care under various legacy names that have long served the Bakersfield community.

From the beginning, Living Waters was created by a team of experienced, diverse, and deeply committed funeral professionals. With decades of combined experience, our staff came together with a shared vision: to provide personalized, meaningful, and dignified funeral services that honor every family’s unique story and cultural traditions. Whether assisting with a small private gathering or a large ceremonial service, our mission remains the same—walk with families through one of life’s most delicate moments with empathy, clarity, and respect.

Our approach is fully customizable because we believe no two lives are the same. We honor that truth through services that are thoughtfully planned, beautifully executed, and tailored to reflect the spirit of each individual. We serve all faiths, backgrounds, and communities with equal care and reverence.

A Message from the Owner

“When my mother passed in 2015, I knew I’d be in funeral service for the rest of my life. Most of us at Living Waters have sat on the front row at the service of someone we deeply love. That personal experience shapes how we serve every family. We’re here to walk with you hand in hand through this journey—making the planning and logistics as easy as possible, so you can focus on honoring and grieving your loved one. It’s in serving families at these sacred moments that we find our purpose and passion.”
